Keeping Up with the Joneses

Table, anybody?

Would anyone out there be interested in a free kitchen table? It's almost nine years old and has seen a lot of use, but it still has some life in it. It seats four, though we've squeezed in six. The top and chairs are some kind of light wood like oak and the table legs and chair backs are dark green. We got a new table for our dining room so we need to find a home for our old table. If you're interested, I can post a picture. If there are no bites, I'll just put it on craigslist.com.

And now the news you've all been waiting for!

Okay, Jen, thanks for the reminder. :-)

So, y'all, the big news is that we are moving! As of January 1 we will be living in Milford, a charming little town about 20 minutes from our current house. Sometime soon I will write a post about the incredible way the Lord led us to this house. It's a brand-new house with a gas fireplace and central air, a big airy kitchen, and lots of other nice touches. Probably the only downside is that it has only three bedrooms, but eventually we plan to finish the basement and add a greatroom. In the meantime the boys won't mind being crammed into a room together (thankfully boys generally don't mind sharing a room, unlike girls!) and we'll be putting carpet scraps and a baseboard heater in the basement for a makeshift playroom.

We haven't decided yet if we're going to have a landline or just use our cell phones. For those of you who are likely to need our contact information, I'll be sending out an e-mail in a few days.

We're a happy family...

Have I ever mentioned how much I love my husband's family?! Today we managed to get a decent family portrait. Every time we have had a reunion poor Nana has tried valiantly to get a group picture, without success. So we finally decided to bite the bullet and pay someone to do the job. Let me just say, our photographer earned her keep today.

Addie (on the right behind Chloe) and I both had conjunctivitis this week, making her look very sad and me very tired. We were supposed to have the portrait done yesterday but my eyes were so bad there was no way. Mom graciously offered to have it postponed a day.

Snow, snow, snow, snow!

It's only December 18 and I'm already longing for spring. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that we can't even open the storm door onto the back porch because it's blocked by snow--about a foot to be exact. And everywhere you go there are piles and piles of it, affecting traffic and parking. It's beautiful stuff, just darned inconvenient! And to think, there's more to come in the next few days! Aagh!
On a more positive note, stay tuned for big news later this week. :-)
